The District 23 Toastmasters Fall Conference is just six weeks away. More details will follow in the coming weeks, but for now, here’s a video teaser to whet your appetite:

The Early Bird registration price of $80 ($75 for first timers) has been extended to
October 1st. On October 2nd the price goes up to $100 for members who have attended past
conferences, but it remains at $75 for first timers. So register early and help your club
win the registration contest (details below)!

You may register online (using a credit or debit card) or
register by mail (with a check … no credit/debit cards by mail) by printing the
conference registration form and mailing it to the address listed on the form.

The Fall Conference is running a registration contest and will give an Ovation Speech Timer to the club with the highest percentage of members registered for the conference (see rules below). So register now (before the Early Bird discount ends) and help your club bring home this fantastic speech timer.

The rules:

  • The club with the highest percentage of registered members wins the timer (see below for ties).
  • The timer will be awarded during the Saturday evening banquet and awards ceremony.
  • Each club’s registration percentage will be calculated using the club’s total number of members registered for the conference as compared to the club’s “Membership to Date” on TI’s Distinguished Club by Division/Area report as of October 1, 2010.
  • Members registered as both Full and A La Carte registrations will be counted.
  • Members must belong to a District 23 Toastmasters club. Non-Toastmaster guests and Toastmasters from other districts will not be counted.
  • A registration for a person who is in more than one club counts towards each club that the person is a member of. It is up to the members to indicate which clubs they belong to. There are spaces on both the online form and the printed form for denoting this.
  • In the event of a tie between two or more clubs, the winner will be decided by the club with the highest percentage of registered members attending the Saturday night dinner (where the timer will be awarded). The percentage will be determined in the same manner as above except that the members must be registered AND in attendance at the banquet.
  • In the event of a second tie, the winner will be determined by drawing lots.
  • In the event of any questions or concerns, the decision of our wise and just conference chair, Angelia Heare, will be final.

The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Park Plaza, 3201 South Loop 289. The room rate for the conference is $79.00 per night but reservations must be made by September 24th to receive this rate.
