District Contests
On Saturday, May 16th, the Tall Tales and International Speech contestants from around our district met in a Zoom meeting along with nearly 100 audience members.
Six contestants competed in each of the two contests with two contestants representing each Division. The top 3 finishers in each contest were:
Tall Tales
- Jonathan Gardner
- Fred Moore
- Laura Lovato
Over the past four years, Jonathan has won five district contests. Evaluation in 2016 and 2017, International Speech in 2017, Table Topics in 2018, and Tall Tales in 2020.
International Speech
- Eva Fanari
- Lorraine Sachs Garcia
- Patti Douglass
Eva is a frequent competitor who has placed at several district contests in the past. This is her first time to win a district-level contest. As the winner of the International Speech contest, Eva will go on to represent District 23 in the Regional Quarterfinals on her way to the Semifinals and the World Championship of Public Speaking.
